For His Name

This week we hear from pastor Muche Ukegbu, who walks us through understanding and responding to the voice of God.

You will live the life you seek after or settle for.

25 Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26 but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations, according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith— 27 to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.

Romans 16:25-27

God strengthens us through the gospel.

25 Now to him who is able to strengthen you according to my gospel and the preaching of Jesus Christ, according to the revelation of the mystery that was kept secret for long ages 26 but has now been disclosed and through the prophetic writings has been made known to all nations

God strengthens us for His name and the obedience of faith.

through whom we have received grace and apostleship to bring about the obedience of faith for the sake of his name among all the nations, including you who are called to belong to Jesus Christ

Romans 1:5-6

27 to the only wise God be glory forevermore through Jesus Christ! Amen.

Romans 16:27

I am the LORD; that is my name; my glory I give to no other

Isaiah 42:8

The Lord said to Gideon, “You have too many troops for me to hand the Midianites over to them, or else Israel might elevate themselves over me and say,‘My own strength saved me.’

Judges 7:2

God magnifies His glory by making the weak strong.

But he said to me, “My grace is sufficient for you, for my power is made perfect in weakness.

2 Corinthians 12:9

…according to the command of the eternal God, to bring about the obedience of faith

Romans 16:26b

16 For I am not ashamed of the gospel, for it is the power of God for salvation to everyone who believes, to the Jew first and also to the Greek. 17 For in it the righteousness of God is revealed from faith for faith, as it is written, “The righteous shall live by faith.”

Romans 1:16-17

The obedience of faith is faith that leads to the delightful and willful surrender to the will of God in our lives.

The obedience of faith is believing the gospel.

Gospel Strength = endurance, empowerment, and assurance of His presence.
